Terracotta (regular & glazed)

Fun fact: the word “terracotta” comes from the Italian “terra cotta” which roughly means “cooked dirt”. In French, we use the same kind of wording: “terre cuite”.
Glazed also resembles the French word “glace” or the verb “glacer”.

Another note of interest is the process of glazing terracotta, which seals the material off & renders it waterproof, thus lowering/canceling its porosity.
